Jewelry care

For fine jewelry

Storage: Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using individual pouches or jewelry boxes to prevent pieces from scratching or tangling with each other.

Avoid Exposure: Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, or engaging in activities that may expose it to harsh chemicals, such as cleaning products or perfumes.

Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect your jewelry for loose stones, worn prongs, or any damage. If you notice any issues, take your jewelry to a professional jeweler for repair.

Cleaning: Mix a few drops of mild dish soap in warm water. Soak the jewelry for a few minutes, gently scrub with a soft brush (an old toothbrush works well), and rinse thoroughly. Dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Gold plated jewelry

Bronze-plated jewelry requires special care to maintain its appearance and prevent the plating from wearing off. Here are some tips for caring for bronze-plated jewelry:

Avoid Moisture: Bronze can tarnish when exposed to moisture. Remove your bronze-plated jewelry before showering, swimming, or engaging in activities that involve water. Moisture can accelerate the tarnishing process.

Keep Away from Chemicals: Avoid exposing your bronze-plated jewelry to harsh chemicals, including perfumes, lotions, hairsprays, and cleaning products. These chemicals can cause the plating to wear off more quickly.

Store Separately: Store your bronze-plated jewelry in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. To prevent scratching, consider storing each piece separately in the cloth  bag that we give you.

Gentle Cleaning: Clean your bronze-plated jewelry with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials, as they can scratch the plating. If needed, you can add a small amount of mild soap to the damp cloth.

Avoid Polishing Cloths: Avoid using polishing cloths designed for silver or gold on bronze-plated jewelry, as they may be too abrasive and could remove the plating.

Limit Wear and Tear: Be mindful of activities that may cause excessive wear and tear on your jewelry. Remove your bronze-plated pieces before engaging in activities that could potentially damage them.

Replating: If you notice signs of wear on the plating, send the jewel back to us so we can replate it. Write to us for more information at hello@reatiga.com.

Regular Inspections:Periodically inspect your bronze-plated jewelry for any signs of damage or wear. If you notice areas where the plating is starting to wear off, take appropriate measures to prevent further deterioration.

Be Gentle: When handling your bronze-plated jewelry, be gentle to avoid unnecessary friction or impact that could damage the plating.
